Built to Serve. Connected for Life.
The premier alumni association for Bayan Islamic Graduate School, connecting scholars, chaplains, and community leaders across the nation through mentorship, career advancement, and lifelong intellectual engagement.
BayanPlus+ is the premier alumni association of Bayan Islamic Graduate School, the first accredited Islamic graduate school in the United States. We exist to ensure that every graduate who walks across the Bayan stage has access to the professional infrastructure, intellectual community, and institutional support that their calling demands.
The American Muslim community has invested heavily in producing trained scholars, chaplains, and community leaders. What it has not yet built is the connective tissue that sustains those leaders after graduation. BayanPlus+ fills that gap — not with a passive directory or an annual dinner, but with a structured ecosystem of career placement, mentorship, continuing education, and regional connectivity.
"Together, we are building what will outlast us — an institution that serves the servants of this community."
Our association operates across four core pillars: Professional Advancement and Mentorship, Lifelong Intellectual Engagement, Regional Connectivity, and Institutional Stewardship. Each pillar is designed to address a specific dimension of the alumni experience, and together they form a comprehensive support system unmatched by any Islamic graduate institution in North America.

To establish BayanPlus+ as the most consequential alumni network in American Islamic higher education — a self-sustaining institution that amplifies the impact of every Bayan graduate for the benefit of the broader Muslim community.
Every dimension of the alumni experience is addressed through four interconnected pillars — each one essential, none sufficient alone.
A structured career ecosystem featuring a vetted job board, 12-month Mentorship Academy, professional development workshops, board certification support, and employer partnerships that position Bayan graduates as the preferred candidates in chaplaincy, mosque leadership, and academia.
Continuing the scholarly journey beyond graduation through the BayanPlus+ Scholarly Review, faculty-led seminars, reading circles, and an annual research colloquium that keeps alumni at the cutting edge of Islamic thought and practice.
A phased regional chapter system that builds local alumni communities across the country, starting with five anchor cities and expanding to twelve within 24 months. Each chapter hosts quarterly gatherings, service projects, and professional networking events.
Ensuring BayanPlus+ strengthens the institution that made it possible. Alumni serve as ambassadors, mentors to current students, donors, and advocates — creating a virtuous cycle where institutional investment in alumni yields returns for the next generation.
Every Bayan graduate belongs. Choose the level of engagement that matches your professional goals and commitment to the community.

Alumni Spotlight
Bayan gave me the scholarly foundation and the spiritual grounding to serve students navigating faith and identity in one of the most intellectually demanding environments in the world.
After graduating from Bayan's MA program, Amina completed her Clinical Pastoral Education at Stanford Hospital and was appointed as the university's first full-time Muslim chaplain. She now leads interfaith programming for over 2,000 Muslim students and has published research on spiritual care in higher education settings.

BayanPlus+ is governed by an elected Alumni Board of Directors and administered through five standing committees, each responsible for a defined portfolio.
The Board consists of 9–12 elected alumni members serving staggered three-year terms. At least one seat is reserved for a recent graduate (within two years of commencement), and the Dean of Bayan serves as an ex-officio non-voting advisor.
Board officers include a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Elections are held annually, with Gold and Platinum members holding voting rights.
